Begbie Views Retreat is the ideal destination for making memories and enjoying the Revelstoke experience.
Begbie Views Retreat is a beautifully appointed 5-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom property located on the southside of Revelstoke Mountain Ski Resort. This family vacation rental boasts some of the best views in the valley and is conveniently located with a 5-minute drive to the ski resort.
The property sleeps over 10 people and has all the amenities for guests to enjoy after a day outdoors.
Relax and soak up the views in the saltwater hot tub, sit around the outdoor fire pit roasting s’mores, or enjoy a good book curled up in one of the numerous lounge rooms boasting magnificent views of Mt. Begbie.
What does Begbie Views Retreat have to offer?
The answer is many things, but let us share just a few.
Personalize your skiing experience.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort is right on our doorstep. Make the most of your ski trip by asking our friendly on-site property manager Chris for tips on the best areas to ski.
Chris, as an experienced ski instructor, can highlight the terrain that your group will all love to ski! He can help with ski school recommendations and other experiences that will see your group get the most out of the mountain.
Don’t forget to ask him about Breakfast Club.
Cross Country Skiing and SnowShoeing
If you love cross-country skiing, then the extensive network of maintained trails located at the Mount Macpherson recreational site will be a place to explore. Take the time to explore the snow-covered floodplains of the Columbia River conveniently located across the road.
Alternatively, enjoy the beautiful snowshoe trails out the back of our property. We have a few pairs of snowshoes on the property that you can borrow.
Heli-Skiing
Imagine being one of the few who wakes up to the sound of the helicopter as it lands at the property, picking you up for a day of heli-skiing in Revelstoke. With advanced notice, this could be you.

As all of us within property management are aware, it has been a difficult year for the tourism industry due to the pandemic that started in 2019. However, we are at the forefront of a major spike in the travel and hospitality industry.
According to Airdna, “Short Term Rentals retain most of the gains made vs. hotels for leisure travel and maintain gains in destination markets. Demand begins to recover in major cities in late 2021 with most markets recovering to pre-pandemic demand levels by the summer of 2022” (https://www.airdna.co/resources/blog).
As a whole, we can take a deep breath and look positively at the future of our potential of profit in the upcoming winter months.
We are seeing bookings coming in rapidly, and what is most interesting is that we are also noticing changes in some of our industries’ travel trends. Over the last 6 months, we have seen a few key adjustments in traveller behaviour, booking practices and customer needs. Here are a few of the top travel trends that we have noted, and an example of how Stay Revy is adapting its property management services to continuously stay relevant.
1. Higher Levels of Communication
In our current global situation, there has been quite a lot of uncertainty. Many of our guests are reaching out and looking for further information than we have seen in the past. We completely understand and sympathize with our guests easing back into travel.
As a company we make sure that we are touching base with our guests at the time of booking, to be extremely clear and communicative on policies and procedures. We reach out before arrival and during their stay, to offer recommendations on our lovely mountain community, Revelstoke BC. Lastly, we are following up with guests feedback on their stay and if they have any recommendations for us.
This level of communication ensures guests’ questions are answered promptly and they feel supported and comfortable travelling again. Additionally, Stay Revy’s Guest App makes it really easy for guests to reach out if there is anything they need.
2. Shorter Lead Times
One travel trend we have really noticed over the past few months has been a shorter lead time. ‘Lead times’ is the amount of time between when a person books to their date of arrival. Due to the travel restrictions that took place, many groups are waiting to book, until a few days prior to their desired vacation time.
Lately we are seeing the gap on this close as we enter the busy winter season. As our travel restrictions have lifted in Canada and we are starting to receive traffic from the United States, our lead times are getting longer and most people are trying to secure a property for their awesome winter adventure.Stay Revy is available to help with booking whether it is a few months, a few weeks or a few days away.
3. Flexible Cancellation Policy
Along with shorter lead times, guests are also looking for flexible cancellation policies. This comes as no surprise as all of us are still unsure what awaits around the corner. This issue is twofold as a property manager as you have to protect the interest of the guests, as well as the interests of the property owner. At Stay Revy we like to follow a 30-day Cancellation Policy, but we will always try to work with our guests on the situations that arise.
4. Exceeding Expectations
We have all been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to go on a vacation again. You may be looking forward to relaxing, adventuring and just enjoying the beauty of another town. Due to the pent-up excitement to travel, as a company or property manager, you have to ensure that you are exceeding all of these build-up expectations. You have to make sure that your guests are being cared for to the best of your ability and get the most out of their much-needed vacation.
5. Workstations
Although travel is bouncing back, one thing that we believe has forever changed, is the ability for a lot of people to be able to work remotely. It is highly important to ensure that there is an area at the vacation property that can host someone looking to work or study from home.Especially with high-speed internet in Revelstoke, where better else to be when working remotely. “A hybrid work model allows many workers more flexibility to work from home more often. Extend trips because the norm as more and more travellers combine business and leisure trips” (https://www.airdna.co/resources/blog)
6. Pet-Friendly Properties
Whilst we are seeing a broader geographical demographic within our guests, we have noticed the main travellers are still Canadians. Many still use vehicles as their main mode of transportation, and due to this many visitors are travelling with their pets. Having a pet-friendly option will broaden the number of groups able to stay at your property.Ensure that you have a pet-friendly rental agreement in place and adjust for any additional cleaning that a pet brings. At Stay Revy we even partner with a pet sitting service that will watch your pets while you’re out on the mountain. Inquire for all of our pet-friendly vacation rental properties.
There are many benefits to utilizing your property as a vacation rental. If you have any questions regarding vacation property management in Revelstoke, do not hesitate to get in touch with our team and we would be happy to help!
We look forward to welcoming you to Begbie Views Retreat, our newest addition to Stay Revy’s vacation rentals. Begbie Views Retreat is located at the top of a ridge on the south side of Revelstoke Mountain Ski Resort and can boast some of the best views in the whole of the valley.
The property can accommodate over 10 people, inclusive of all the amenities for a relaxing wind down after a big day of playing in the mountains. The hot tub sits out the back of the house with spectacular views of Mount Begbie. Further in the garden is a spectacular outdoor fire area designed for the ultimate entertaining experience. Begbie Views Retreat is a vacation rental that has something for everyone to enjoy.
1. Meet Your Host Chris Jandke
To help make your Revelstoke experience something you will not forget, we have an on-site host, Chris. Chris is there to assist you in answering any questions you may have, and providing local knowledge that is invaluable. You can ask Chris about anything from which restaurants he recommends, to what ski runs are his favourite and anything about the property itself. He can also assist with pointing you in the right direction to enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing. He will be there to make sure you have enough firewood and that the snow is cleared from the driveway. Chris will build you a roaring outdoor fire where you can enjoy a drink while taking in the breathtaking views of the Columbia Valley.
Unlike most vacation rentals, this property comes with a full concierge service. We can assist with anything from booking your ski lessons to having the fridge fully stocked upon your arrival. Need help getting from the airport to Revelstoke, we have you covered with our discounted private shuttle service. If there is something that you require whilst at your home away from home, we are here for you. We can help curate the perfect Revelstoke Vacation.
2. Salt Water Hot Tub
Begbie Views Retreat has a cedar-clad hot tub that can seat up to 8 people comfortably. The unique aspect of the hot tub here is that it is a saltwater hot tub. No nasty chemicals are put in the hot tub so even those with the most sensitive of skin can enjoy a relaxing soak. We have hot tub personnel that will check the hot tub regularly throughout your stay.
3. Sustainability and Carbon Neutral Stay
A large house and large property such as this takes a generous volume of energy to maintain and as a result has a hefty environmental footprint. Recent years have seen record local high temperatures in summer and fires in the surrounding British Columbia areas are worse than ever. The glacier on Mount Begbie right in front of our house is clearly retreating. As a result, we feel it at least our duty to offset the climate impacts from your stay at the house. A report can be provided to guests upon request.
Including in what we offset is the greenhouse gas emissions from the following activities.
Measured emissions from electricity usage
Estimations of emissions from
– Food and beverage consumption
– Cutting and transportation of firewood.
– Transportation from Calgary, Vancouver, or Kelowna airport.
– High emissions activities such as snowmobiling, Heli-skiing – where the information is provided.
4. Large Groups are Welcome
Begbie Views Retreat has 5 bedrooms in total and 4 bathrooms. The property also has two sofa beds in private living rooms. This property is beneficial for families, corporate retreats, and larger groups. There is plenty of space in the property to host large groups and includes desk space, high speed wifi and conference rooms. There is a spacious room in the basement that could host up to 40 people at one time. The kitchen even accommodates large groups and has the added bonus of two ovens. However, if you do not feel like cooking, not a problem, inquire about private chef options.
5. Outside Fire Pit
The outside fire pit is absolutely picturesque. After you arrive back at Begbie Views Retreat, from the day’s exciting activities you can enjoy a roaring fire that Chris will have prepared for you. Take a seat, in one of our Adirondack chairs, and feel the warmth of the fire, see the silhouette of Mt Begbie in the distance and breathe in the fresh mountain air. Welcome to a typical evening at Begbie Views Retreat.
6. Prime Location
Begbie Views Retreat is located on a large private acreage only minutes away from the world-renowned Revelstoke Mountain Resort. Perched on top of a ridge, Begbie Views Retreat is a private space for you and your group to get away, disconnect and relax. Only a short 5-minute drive to the ski resort, or a 10-minute drive into town, you are still close enough to all the excitement Revelstoke has to offer.
We can not stress this point enough! Attention to detail in every aspect of your property, from cleanliness to additional guests features, will ensure positive guest reviews and have your guests returning year after year! Some ideas to help your property stand out are additional books, games, and accessories for guests to use.

Friday Afternoon:
Welcome to Revelstoke! You and your group arrive from your destination and enter into our beautiful city. You are instantly greeted by a 360 degree of mountains all around you. Take a deep breath of the fresh air and feel yourself already start to unwind. You arrive with ease at one of our comforting Stay Revy Properties and you know exactly what you want to do first . . . get in the Hot Tub! Pour yourself a large beverage and slip into relaxation with amazing views and the sound of nature.
Friday Evening:
As it is your first night in Revelstoke, you are ready to get out and explore our vibrant downtown core. In the evening Fall light the downtown is lit up and inviting for you to stroll the streets peeking into the different stalls seeing rows of jewelry, skis and much much more.
First on the agenda tonight is Monashee Spirits for one of their spectacular cocktails. The Monashee Spirits Distillery offers award winning spirits using locally sourced ingredients. Their menu is always filled with decadent drinks. If you are feeling adventurous ask the bartender for a surprise. This lovely local spot is intimate, warm and very inviting.
Just across the street is where you will end up for your first dinner in Revelstoke. The Village Idiot Bar & Grill. This is a locals favourite and it is normally packed at apres in the winter season. This ski town inspired restaurant serves delicious Canadian meals and unique pizzas that will blow you away. Make sure to share as a group as you will probably still have leftovers! Don’t feel like going out after your journey? They deliver right to your door!
Saturday Morning:
Good Morning! After waking up refreshed and rejuvenated following a great night sleep in one of our comfortable beds it is time to take on the day in Revy. Head into our downtown core for brunch. In an amazingly adventurous community, I still love waking up late and starting my day with a large breakfast at one of our many cafe’s. Main Street Cafe, located on Mackenzie Avenue, has a delicious and eclectic breakfast and lunch menu. With some of the best Eggs Benedict in town this is by far one of my favourite go to spots.
Today on the schedule is a visit to Halfway Hot Springs. I recommend packing a picnic lunch and bringing it with you on your adventure. So, before you head off to the natural, spring fed, hot pools, you need to make a quick pit stop at Le Marche. Le Marche is a French deli with an array of gourmet cheeses and cured meats. Along with fresh baked breads, spreads and veggies. Pack up your favorites and bring them with you.
With your picnic and swimsuits in tow, head down Highway 23S you will reach the Shelter Bay ferry terminal. Take the ferry over to Galena Bay, a short 25 minute ferry ride, make sure to keep the camera out for this one. You will have beautiful, expansive views of the Upper Arrow Lake.
Once you have crossed over you’ll continue driving for about 10 more minutes until you reach the turn off for Halfway Hot Springs. Take the dirt road for about 12 kms until you reach the day parking area for the hot springs.
Halfway Hot Springs are completely natural hot springs, located next to a beautiful roaring river. There is a short walk down to the hot springs from the rec site, but they are completely worth it. Spend the afternoon exploring the different pools along the river and testing out the varied temperatures and enjoying your picnic.
Saturday Evening:
If you are bringing your children with you on this holiday, this is where we book in Stoked Sitters. A child and pet care service that matches the right person with your loved ones. During your massage a sitter from Stoked Sitters will be there to attend to your children, possibly take them on a walk to help you rest uninterrupted. Stoked Sitters can also be there if tonight is your night off.
Saturday evening in Revelstoke in the Fall is so romantic. With dimmed lighting and the trees changing. Take a moment to stand in the Revelstoke Gazebo and take in the beauty that is our downtown. Dinner tonight is at The Quartermaster Eatery. This is one of our more fine dining experiences in Revy. Enjoy a wonderful wine menu and fantastic 3 course meals.
Sunday Morning
It is Sunday morning, so make sure to have a lazy start to your day. Dose coffee shop is the destination for this morning. Make sure to pick up a coffee to go and a bite to eat. The Greenbelt Loop offers a beautiful walk around our city. This short, flat walk is also wheelchair and pushchair accessible. A stroll with a coffee is perfect for this loop. Make sure to bring your camera as you get fantastic views along the way.
Today is about taking in all the arts and culture Revelstoke has to offer. Wonder around Revelstoke’s ‘Art Alleries’ to see all the art installations set up during Luna Art Fest and left for all our guests to explore. Stroll between the shops to notice these and see how many you can find. We also have two art galleries to stop to visit and explore some of our local artists finest pieces. The first gallery is located on First Street called Art First. The second is the Visual Arts Centre, which continuously showcases a large variety of regional art work.
Before heading on the road, make sure to pick up a coffee from ‘The Modern’ and a snack for the drive. You should feel relaxed, rested and full of wonderful memories to take home with you. Revelstoke has so much to offer and this is just the beginning. Come back for the Winter for another fabulous and adventurous getaway with Stay Revy properties.
Here at Stay Revy, we love our furry friends as much as you do! We understand the importance of having pet-friendly properties that way your pets can enjoy some time away with you. Over the last year, we had 70% of travelers inquiring about bringing their pets on holiday with them. So, along with offering pet-friendly accommodation, this has also led to us deciding that we wanted to share with you our local knowledge about the pet-friendly spots, shops and other helpful tips when visiting Revelstoke with your pets.
Dog-Friendly Hikes
Exercising your dog whilst on your BC vacation is a great way to get out and explore many of our beautiful walking trails. There are a few hikes that are nice and easy that we are sure your pet will love. My dog, Mac, pretty much runs himself up Mount Cartier now.
Cartier Lookout – A 5 km hike to a fantastic view of the Columbia Valley. This is definitely an adventurous hike with a gradual uphill most of the way. There are a few creeks along the way, but make sure to pack extra water for yourself and your dog. There’s a mountain bike trail that runs alongside the trail for a little while at the beginning, keep an eye on them if they tend to run after bikers. This is a dog-friendly hike and your pets are allowed to be off-leash.
The Greenbelt Loop – This is a really easy walking loop around our downtown core. I would recommend going to one of our many amazing coffee shops, grabbing a coffee-to-go and then heading over to the greenbelt for a morning walk. Dogs need to be on a leash, but this is a very lovely mellow flat walk. This loop is also stroller, wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
Begbie Bluffs – The Begbie Bluffs trail is another amazing walk/hike to take your pets on. It is about 1 hour 30 mins and takes you to another incredible view in Revelstoke. Your pet is allowed to be off-leash and can explore the area with you.
Activities
We have two farmer’s markets in Revelstoke, both allow dogs as long as they are on a leash. This is a great activity for the whole family to check out Revelstoke’s abundant fruit, vegetables and local arts and crafts.
Revelstoke LFI Farmers Market – On Saturdays, between 8 – 1 located at Centennial Park.
Revelstoke Craft Market – The Arts and Crafts market runs at the same time, located next to Nomad’s by the entrance to Revelstoke.
A day at Revelstoke Lake – A fantastic day out in Revelstoke is waking up and exploring one of our farmers markets downtown. Then head over to Le Marche, a beautiful, French-inspired deli that has a vast choice of cheeses and cured meats. Load up your picnic, paddleboards and the dogs and head up to Lake Revelstoke on Highway 23N. Either go to one of the recreational spots, or find an adventurous road heading towards the water and take a gamble. You can find your own slice of heaven where you can spend the day picnicking by the lake, and your pets can frolic in nature to their heart’s desire. Make sure to pick up your paddleboard rentals from Fine Line Sup.
Begbie Brewery – Our local brewery offers a dog friendly patio. Make sure to get a flight to try all the different beers they have on draft. The Cream Ale is my favorite. Bring a game with you and enjoy the views from the patio, whilst your dog can sit by you.
Designated Off-Leash areas in Revelstoke – https://revelstoke.ca/499/Designated-Off-Leash-Dog-Areas-Map
Doggy-Day Care
Stoked Sitters – www.stokedsitters.ca – This wonderful, local company provides dog sitting (and child care) to guests in Revelstoke. They will match a sitter with your furry friend(s), come to collect them and take them for as long as you wish so you can enjoy some much-needed free time. This can ensure that your pet is still getting the exercise it needs and can hopefully result in your dog returning tired and content.
Pet-Friendly Accommodation
Stay Revy has two vacation properties that offer pet-friendly accommodation in the Revelstoke area. So when you come on your BC vacation, your pet can come too. We look forward to welcoming both you and your pets here in Revelstoke, BC.

This brand-new condo is located just 3 minutes from world-renowned Revelstoke Mountain Resort, and just 5 minutes from downtown Revelstoke. Over the last year the world has changed drastically. Normally when work gets a bit much, or you’re craving that girls trip, you can just hop on a plane and plan a weekend away. This year everyone has had to do things a little bit differently, we need to think outside of the box to get that well deserved vacation. Taking a holiday in our own town could be a solution to the winter and Covid blues. Still don’t believe me? Here are a couple of reasons we at Stay Revy came up with.
1. Being a Tourist is Fun.
See your town from the eyes of the tourist. There is a reason people come to visit your town, so why not spend time figuring it out. Every town has special and unique features to discover and in between seasons you may get to enjoy these spots without crowds. For example, have you been axe throwing recently?
2. Relax and Unwind Easier.
How much time is wasted traveling to your destination? Whether it is driving a few hours or taking a flight, these travel times take away from your relaxation. With a staycation, you skip all that wasted time and go straight into the fun you had planned.
3. It Supports Local Businesses.
Everyone loves supporting local businesses and going on a staycation is a great way to do this. With a drop in tourism, activities and businesses that usually thrive this time of year will be struggling to cover the costs. Being a local you may not only get a discount but you will be helping your community.
4. Because You Deserve It!
No matter who you are, the last year has been tough. This is why you should take some time for yourself to get away and disconnect from the world a bit. Whether this is you and your partner, your roommates, or special time with the kids. Leave the devices at home and go explore your own backyard.
Stay Revy wants to support your Staycation dreams! We are currently offering a discount to locals. Contact a member of the Stay Revy Team for more details using our contact form here.
As we start to see the snow creeping down the mountains, many of us are beginning to think about preparing our vacation property for the upcoming winter season. As domestic tourism continues to grow in Canada and bookings begin to pour in, you may be thinking about the benefits of vacation renting your property. However, it isn’t always as simple as it sounds. Here at Stay Revy we want to provide you with a few useful tips for managing your vacation rental.
1. Know your neighbourhood
It is important to know the legislation around vacation rentals in your neighbourhood. Not all areas are zoned to allow vacation rentals and you may risk facing a hefty fine if you do so. Many areas will insist you apply for a license to rent your property. Make sure to do your research into the rules surrounding your area prior to listing your rental.
2. Guest Communication
Communication with guests is one of the key elements of vacation renting. There are many different stages of the guest journey that you will want to reach out and touch base. Whilst you have guests present in your property it is important to be contactable 24/7 for emergencies.
3. Choosing a Channel
Different rental channels offer different advantages and disadvantages based on the type of property you have, your target market, time management, and your pricing. As you self-manage your vacation rental, you will want to choose just one channel to list your property to ensure not to get double bookings. Make sure to research which channel works best for you and your property. Some great examples are; Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, and Expedia.
4. Price vs Value.
When deciding on the rates you will use for your property you will want to make sure that it matches the value that the guests are receiving. If you overprice your property compared to your competition you may see a drop in bookings or it reflected in negative reviews. Equally, underpricing your property could cause overuse and you may see a lack of revenue. Make sure to research what other similar properties are using for their rates and price your property accordingly.
5. Attention to Detail
We can not stress this point enough! Attention to detail in every aspect of your property, from cleanliness to additional guests features, will ensure positive guest reviews and have your guests returning year after year! Some ideas to help your property stand out are additional books, games, and accessories for guests to use.
In conclusion, there are many benefits to utilizing your property as a vacation rental. When it comes to self-managing your property, it is crucial that you take into consideration the above points to get the most value out of your property. If you have any questions regarding vacation property management in Revelstoke, do not hesitate to get in touch with our team and we would be happy to help!
